And because of what I wrote about the Drake Pass at Christmas, why not write about another one of those remote places, in fact the most remote, where I have ever spent New Year’s Eve? This island is one of the most famous places and a mandatory stop for all Antarctic cruises.
The Drake Strait or Passage is that wide stretch of sea between the south of South America and the north of the Antarctic Peninsula. It has a minimum width of 800 km.

ABEL TASMAN INLAND TRACK
The second option behind the wake of the Coastal Track is the 41.1 km long Abel Tasman Inland Track, which runs inside the park.
KAYAK
Kayak is undoubtedly the other great activity in Abel Tasman National Park. It allows you to enjoy some coves that are not accessible in any other way, as well as visit Adele or Fisherman Islands and approach Tonga Island, where there is a seal breeding colony (landing is not allowed). It is likely that we may also see dolphins, which sometimes approach kayaks and other boats.

The Abel Tasman Coastal Track is a 60 km long route that runs along Abel Tasman National Park‘s coast from Marahau to the south, to Wainui to the north. It is one of the 9 Great Routes of New Zealand and boasts of being the most popular in the country.
