BEST THINGS TO SEE AND DO IN REYKJAVIK

ESPAÑOL

ITINERARY: THE BEST OF REYKJAVIK IN A HALF OR ONE DAY

The following itinerary I consider that covers the most interesting spots in the city and can be visited in half a day, unless we decide to enter the museums, in that case we will need at least full day.

AOSHIMA ISLAND (青島)

ESPAÑOL

  • I was in Aoshima half day in April 2013.
  • Time needed to visit it: less than half a day.
  • My score: 3/5.

Unknown place is Miyazaki Prefecture. Most tourists do not even know where it is, and its only place that is gradually becoming famous internationally, the incomparable Takachiho Gorge, Continue reading “AOSHIMA ISLAND (青島)”

Iceland

ESPAÑOL

In 2008 I met the first person who had been in Iceland. Scandinavian countries were well known, with their capitals populated by low buildings painted in bright colors and their churches with towers ending in sharp peaks, Lapland plains full of snow and reindeer where Santa Claus lives and the imposing panoramas of Norwegian fjords, traveled by countless cruises in the summer months. But the country whose name means “the land of ice” was a complete stranger. Continue reading “Iceland”

Kyushu (九州)

ESPAÑOL

Ignored by the vast majority of international tourists, recognized by the Japanese, the largest island to the west of the country has enough attractions for us to consider an exclusive trip to the area. Its temples can not be compared at all to those in central Honshu, but its nature is described as poetic, original and sometimes sensational: Continue reading “Kyushu (九州)”

MALAGA PROVINCE

ESPAÑOL

I know this province very well, or should, because it is where I live. What better way to honor Andalusian day than to introduce one of the most interesting provinces of such an interesting country as Spain, where, in turn, there are not many who know what it offers apart from its coast: Continue reading “MALAGA PROVINCE”

SYDNEY

ESPAÑOL

  • Al was here: 2 days by the end of November 2005 and 5 by the end of February 2012.
  • Number of days needed: at least 2.
  • My score: 5/5.

I was not thinking of writing about Australia at this time in my life, but for my birthday I usually give myself a post from somewhere that makes me particularly excited, Continue reading “SYDNEY”

MENORCA

ESPAÑOL

  • We were here: 5 days at the end of September 2016.
  • Number of days required: at least 3.
  • My score: 4/5.

Few know that it belonged to United Kingdom during almost the entire eighteenth century, at the same time that Spain lost Gibraltar. Although the Caribbean island of Trinidad was given in exchange, we could say that we Spanish can still thank (and probably the only thing we may thank him) Napoleon for helping to recover it, because although similar to the others, Menorca is a small paradise that nobody should resign to.
