The Central Station (Gare Centrale) is at the city center. Please consider:
- The long distance company is Via.
- BOOKING ONLINE AHEAD IS VITAL to get cheap rates: those who do not get the cheapest Via fare called “Escape” will pay more than double.
- Train journeys both to Quebec City and New York City, although slower than the bus, are wonderfully scenic, so I personally recommend them, especially the Amtrak Adirondack Line to New York.

The central station is Station Centrale d’autobus, not to be confused with the central train station (Gare Centrale), 2.5 km north of it and therefore not so central. As in the train, BOOKING AHEAD ON INTERNET CAN SAVE YOU 50% OR MORE.
