PARIS

ESPAÑOL

  • I have been here: in September 2005, June 2011 and June 2016. Every 5 years is good to come back.
  • Number of days: 21.
  • My score: 5/5.

Paris is in my opinion the most beautiful city in the world, without having seen all of them, of course … Here the cliche “if a site is extremely touristy, is because it is spectacular” is true, and as I always say, is not because the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Notre Dame nor the Sacre Coeur; it is for all these attractions, many more, and because every street in Paris is beautiful and similar to the previous one. Only the eleven central districts, the most visited ones, form a square about 5 km each side that every street inside it is worth the visit.

The secret is that the whole city is meticulously harmonic: the buildings are the same height, the facades are made of light brown stone and ceilings are grey and lofted, and if you built the first one nice, others have to be. This was possible by the hand of Napoleon III, which in the second half of 19th century decided to amend the entire city to make it the most modern in the world at the time. The result is a city with an incomparable beauty where some very successful points of interest have been added.

To go Paris at least 5 days are recommend. Going in the underground from an attraction to the next one in a hurry is blasphemy. After all, there are many places to see, renowned churches or museums, but few cities can touch your soul at every step, until you get used to its grandeur and start considering it like normal. And when you return to your own town, it will seem horrible. And the rest of cities that you see in your life, you will compare them to Paris.
